Aussies are characterized by their strong square, balanced bodies. Their coats are medium length and often one of the following colorations: black, red, blue merle, red merle or a combination with white or tan markings.

They have a medium length muzzle and bright intelligent eyes that are always watching and observing anything that may be out of place and need herding.

The Aussie is a dependable, easygoing, and loyal companion with a strong work ethic. They are often said that they never outgrow being a puppy stage and love play well into their elder years. This breed would rather be outside working and playing than being inside with the family.
